On Thursday, June 17, 2021, the GitcoinDAO Community Stewards voted to create a “side round” to Gitcoin Grants Round 10 called “Building Gitcoin”. The round features a $50K matching pool pledged by Gitcoin Holdings Inc., and will support those who are building components, prototypes, tools, and products for GitcoinDAO.

The long-anticipated London upgrade is now ready for deployment on the Ethereum testnets! The upgrade will first go live on Ropsten, at block 10499401, which is expected to happen around June 24, 2021.
Quadratic Funding is under Sybil attack
We’re on the cusp of Grants Round 10, and each round has been more successful than the last. We expect that trend will continue through this round as well. The Gitcoin mission is to enable communities to build and fund the open web, so of course we’re always excited to see more growth through grants. But as we grow, we must continue to protect the integrity of the round by defending the Quadratic Funding mechanism from attack.
The Gitcoin Team is pleased to announce that ENS, the decentralized naming protocol, has made a $700k investment in support of digital public goods. ENS joins a stacked group of veteran Ethereum organizations who have contributed over $5mm to help build open source through Gitcoin hackathons and grants rounds.
On Wednesday, May 12, 2021 Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin sent 49 trillion Akita Inu tokens (AKITA) worth approximately $5mm at the time of this posting to the Gitcoin Community’s multisig wallet. This wallet is used to offer matching funds for Gitcoin Grants rounds. Gitcoin Grants is a quarterly crowdfunding campaign for open source projects. These projects get a portion of the match funds based on their fundraising success.
